A. Cannon, Confederate Veteran Called to Rest Mr. William A. Cannon, one of Covington's most highly esteemed Confederate Veteran's died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. A. Harrell, Saturday night after a brief illness. Mr. Cannon was 83 years of age. He is survived by his wife, six sons, R. B., of Alma; M. H., of Eastman; Charles A., of Covington; A. C., of Sanford, Fla.; H. F., of Tampa, Fla.; A. T., of Walnut Grove, one daughter, Mrs. A. A. Harrell, of Covington; one brother, Dr. T. C. Cannon, of Jonesboro, and other relatives. Rev. Walker Combs, pastor of the Baptist church, and Rev. T. J. Christian, conducted the funeral services at the home on Floyd Street Monday afternoon. Interment was in West View Cemetery. Among those attending the funeral and interment of Mr. W. A. Cannon, were; Dr. Charles Cannon, of Jonesboro, and son, Lieut. Cannon of Port Rico, Mr. J. G. Evans, of Jonesboro, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Cannon, of Conyers, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Cannon, of Eastman, Mr. H. F. Cannon, of Tampa, Fla., Mr. A. C. Cannon, of Sanford, Fla., Mr. A. P. Cannon of Walnut Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Doorn, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Smith, Mr. C. L. Smith, Mrs. Hopkins, Mrs. Campbell, of Atlanta, Mr. E. H. Barker, of Loganville, Mrs. Livesey and daughter, Elizabeth of Loganville, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Clay, of Monroe, Mrs. W. S.
