W. Clark, one of the best known and most highly respected women in Covington, died at her home here early Friday morning, after an illness of but a few days. Her death proved a great shock to her family and friends and the sad event has cast a gloom over all who knew her. Mrs. Clark was seventy-eight years of age and was always strong and vigorous mentally and a woman of broad culture and refinement. She was the wife of Col. W. W. Clark, deceased, a distinquished lawyer of Covington. She was the mother of, Mr. W. C. Clark, Miss Belle Clark, Miss Mary Clark and Miss Tempie Clark, all of Covington. The funeral services were conducted by Dr. J. E. Dickey, president of Emory College, from the residence Saturday afternoon and the body interred Sunday morning.
