C. Brooks here, on Sunday morning last. Uncle Reuben was nearly eighty six years of age, and had spent most of his life here in Newton county. He was born in Elbert county, Georgia on the 26 day of September 1818. When quite young his family moved to Newton county where he has since resided. He had been sick for sometime and his death was not wholly a surprise to his relatives and many friends. For many years he was the biggest tax payer and one of the wealthiest men in the county. In his death the county loses one of its best citizens. Additional Comments: In this article the name Reubin/Reuben is spelled both ways.
