RUFUS CRUSE CLAIMED BY DEATH Had Been in Bad Health for Some Time. Death Occurred Monday Afternoon. Mr. Rufus Cruse, a well known citizen of this city, died at his home on Railroad Street Monday afternoon after having been in extremely bad health for several years with a complication of diseases. Mr. Cruse was well known to the people of this county, he having held a number of responsible positions and at the time of his death was connected with the government in the capacity of weather reporter. He was also a notary public and had been for a number of years connected with the courts of the county. He was about 60 years old and was a Confederate veteran. He leaves a wife, several relatives and a number of friends to mourn his death. During all his sufferings he had been a patient and cheerful man and when his time came he passed peacefully into the presence of his maker. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the residence, after which the interment took place at West View cemetery.
