MELVILLE DAVIS DIED AT HIS HOME AT ROCKY PLAINS SUNDAY Mr. Melville Davis died at his home, at Rocky Plains, Sunday night, after an illness of several months. He was buried at Hopewell Cemetery at eleven o'clock, Thursday morning, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. S. B. Hay. Mr. Davis was a faithful member of the Hopewell Presbyterian church. He had made his home in Newton County since 1850, coming from South Carolina. He is survived by his wife and six children; Mrs. B. T. S?, Moultrie, Mr. P. E. Davis, Mr. Bonner Davis, Miss Ruth Davis and Mrs. H. H. Nolan, of Rocky Plains and two brothers, Mr. E. O. Davis, Oxford and Mr.?. C. Davis, Rocky Plains.
