He took a prominent part in local affairs and represented this county in the legislature and held other important places of trust at the hands of his people. The Atlanta Constitution of Sunday had the following to say of his death: “Frank C. Davis, 57 years old, oil inspector for the Atlanta district, former member of the state legislature from Newton County, and a well known real estate man, with offices in Atlanta, died at 12:45 o’clock this morning, at his home at Decatur, following an attack of apoplexy at 8 o’clock last night. Mr. Davis had been subject to apoplexy, having had several previous minor attacks. He was at home with members of his family, when the fatal attack came.” “Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eliza Stevens Davis, a native of Baldwin county; four sons, Walter Robert, Boykin and Grant Davis, and four daughters, Misses Emily, Eliza, Mary and Frances Davis.” “He was a native of Newton County which he represented several times in the state legislature, and was prominently known in state politics. Last spring he was a delegate from the fifth district to the democratic state convention which indorsed the candidacy of Oscar W.
