He had been in feeble health for some time, and yet the news of his death shocked his many friends here and elsewhere in the county, for it was rumored that he was being nursed to life and health again. For a number of years he was Justice of the Peace for his district and discharged his official duties well and faithfully. Most of his life was devoted to school teaching and farming. He was a kind man, warm of heart and generous in all his dealings. He was social and companionable, and will be missed and mourned by all who knew him. Aged about 65 years.
