(Luicille) Ellis of Elizabeth Street, Covington, were conducted on Thursday afternoon, December 20, at the chapel of Harwell Funeral Home with Rev. John Womack, pastor of the church of the Good Shepherd, officiating. Mrs. Ellis, a native of Newton County, passed away in a private hospital on December 19, following a short illness and hospitalization of one week. She was 76 years old at the time of her death and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Covington. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery, near Oxford with J. C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were John Rooks, Lanier Hardman, Aubrey Williams, Gene Garner, Russell Dollar and Bobby Reagan. Surviving are a son, Hugh Ellis, Denver, Colorado, two daughters, Miss Christine Ellis, Covington, Mrs. Ina Ballentine, Marietta; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Cason, Mrs. Johnnie Reagan, both of Oxford and one grandchild.
