Death of Mrs. J. B. Epps
  Mrs. J. B. Epps passed away at her home last Wednesday afternoon about
one o'clock. Mrs. Epps was 74 years of age, and her death was not unexpected,
as she had been in ill health for sometime, although she had never been
confined to her bed. She was a woman of a beautiful Christian character,
and her demise will be keenly felt by a wide circle of friends. She
was a devout member of the Methodist church since early life, and
was a woman universally esteemed by every one.
  Mrs. Epps is survived by her husband, two sons, and one daughter, 
Messrs Nester and Lee Epps, of Covington, and Mrs. Loula Porter, of
Newborn. The funeral was held at Starrsville Thursday afternoon, at
three o'clock, and was largely attended. The floral offerings were
numerous and beautiful. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. F. R. 
Smith, of Newborn. To the bereaved we extend our deepest sympathy.
