Floyd breathed his last at his residence in this city. He had been confined to his room for some time and his death was not unexpected, although it was a shock to his many friends in the city when the sad announcement was made on Monday morning that the spirit of Judge Floyd had winged its flight from earth. He was well known to the people of Georgia and for years had been considered one of the best criminal lawyers in the State. He was once Judge of the Flint circuit and wore the ermine with honor to himself and satisfaction to the public. He was a member of the Methodist Church and death to him was not a terror, for upon his dying bed he expressed a willingness to answer his Master's summons when it came. At the time of his death he was about 74 years old. We offer our condolence to the aged widow in her hour of grief and loneliness, and extend to the relatives and friends of the deceased our tenderest sympathy in the loss they have sustained by the death of this good man.
