R. Graham, a well known Contractor falls from a Scaffold News reached here Saturday morning of the tragic death of W. R. Graham, one of the best known contractors of this city. The death of Mr. Graham occurred in Mansfield while he was at work on the residence of Mr. Elijah Campbell. Mr. Graham was on the scaffold near the second story of the house and the scaffold gave way, Mr. Graham going with it. A block of shingles fell on his head and shoulders, crushing the life out of him almost instantly. Mr. Graham was a man of about 45 years of age and had lived in Newton county all his life. He was one of the most highly respected of our citizens. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. The interment took place Sunday under the auspices of Welaunee Tribe of the Redmen.
