W. Giles On last Monday, September 5th, at 10 a. m. while all nature was donning the golden tints of autumn, the zephyrs sighed in pity and the sun seemed to shine more gently than usual, only bedimmed anon by a passing silouette, did the sweet spirit of Mrs. J. W. Giles bid farewell to its mortal coil and was transplanted to the beautiful land beyond the smiling and the weeping. As the September sun was nearing it's zenith, the gates of glory swung a jar to let this new messenger from earth to Heaven pass into the sweet land, Elysion, where is assembled the great throng of blood washed souls who have gone before. The beautiful and variegated tintings of the Eastern sky on that summer morn were but the reflections of that pure character rounded out in such brilliant colors as would aptly recall the recollections of that beautifully developed being who was too pure for earth, but a rare jewel resplendent with the halos and glories that bedeck the beautiful "Isle of Somewhere." Here was a rare character clothed in the royal drapery of God's children. The scintillating characteristics of this beautiful life was giving out its many beauties, shown with a rich luster on her companions, friends and kindred, refining and touching up their lives to a purity sublime. It is a providence to know her and revel in the sunshine of her love and smiles. The beneficient influence of the holy life will leave the perfume and luxuriance of a sweetness in this old world for time immemorial. The richness of its fragrance will be lasting. The impress of her Christian life is a living monument void of annihilation. Mrs. Giles was 42 years of age and had been the major portion, to the Christian church, a devotee at her shrine. She leaves a husband, seven children, brothers and sisters, kindred and friends, to mourn her death. No more will she sit in her pew; no more will she grace a queenly home as wife and mother, her voice is still; its music is hushed, and now all is sorrow where sadness knew no welcome. The obsequies were held at Walnutgrove Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Aycock. To the bereaved family, we would point to an all wise God,Who doeth all things well. J. O. M.
