WIMPY Well Known Attorney Passed Away at Midnight at Daughter's Home, in Atlanta. John A. Wimpy, the well known attorney, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frances McCandless in Atlanta, Monday night. Col. Wimpy was born in East Tennessee in 1837, and soon thereafter he came to Georgia, and when a young man began the practice of law. A few years ago Mr. Wimpy suffered a stroke of paralysis, and for the past several months has been in a helpless condition, and his death was not unexpected. He is survived by his widow and six children; Warren Wimpy of New York city; Charles Wimpy of Florida; Erskine Wimpy, of Atlanta; Mrs. Frances McCandless, of Atlanta; Miss Grace Wimpy, of New York city; and Miss Bertie Wimpy, of Atlanta. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. McCandless, Dr. French officiating.
