Horrible Death of a Negro Boy

Newborn, Ga., Aug. 16 – Jesse Harris, a negro boy 14 years old, was instantly
killed by a runaway mule.  He had started to the field to do some plowing and as
he went to jump on the mule he fell back and both feet became entangled in the
plow gear.  The mule became frightened and ran, dragging the boy nearly
one-fourth of a mile.
