He died suddenly on Wednesday, January 25, 1893. He was in Florida, with a party of friends from this county, and was just starting on his return home, when he suddenly fell forward from his seat in a wagon, and died instantly. The party had been on a pleasure trip in Florida for about a month, and were on their return home. The party was ?? miles from the railroad when he died, and they did not reach Covington, with his remains, until Friday, at 11:30 a. m. His remains were prepared for burial at Thompson & Lee’s in Covington, and were carried home Friday evening. He was 69 years old, and would have been 70 on his next birthday. His burial took place on Saturday morning.
