Horton, which sad event transpired at their home in this city on Thursday last. Aged about 7 years. The sympathies of our entire people go out to the bereaved parents in the unfortunate hours of their great misfortune. Torrence was a bright and interesting child and a favorite with all who knew him. May he sleep sweetly and may the good Lord give his sorrowing parents strength to say, “Thy will and not mine be done,” for their darling boy is now free from the cares, pain and responsibilities of this cold and careless world and is safe in the blessed arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The funeral services were conducted in a very impressive manner by Rev. R. J. Bigham and Rev. J. M. Brittain, Friday afternoon, at the M. E. Church.
