GEORGE HARRIS Early in the morning of Thursday, March 19th, Mrs. George F. Harris passed away at her home, near the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. R. Smith, in the Flint Hill community, four miles north of Oxford. Mrs. Harris lived nearly all her life, 86 years, in Newton county at the old home place where she was born leaving only for a few years which she spent in Dacula and Loganville. Later they returned and lived a short distance from the old home site.` Mrs. Harris was a kind and affectionate wife and mother, and much beloved by all who knew her. Before her marriage she was Miss Sarah Agnes Stewart. She was born February 16th, 1839. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. M. H. Smith and four sons, G. E. Harris, Texarkana, Ark., W. T. Harris, Hillsboro, Texas, J. O. Harris, Tyler, Texas and B. A. Harris, Houston, Texas, and a number of grand children. Funeral services were held Friday morning at Macedonia Baptist church with Dr. Reese and Dr. LaPrade, of Oxford, officiating. She was laid to rest in the Ellington cemetery on a hill overlooking the section where she spent practically her whole life.
