C. Hood Rev. S. C. Hood, a prominent Baptist divine and greatly beloved by the people of Covington, died at Boulder, Colorado, last Saturday morning. Mr. Hood was pastor of the Baptist church here and at Social Circle for about two years and resigned his work on account of failing health. He has spent several months at San Antonio, Tex., Crowell, Tex., and Boulder, Colorado, hoping to be benefitted. Neither of these places seemed to do him any good, and since he left here his health has continued to grow worse. Mr. Hood has held several important positions in life. He was a classical scholar and was President of Forsyth Female college for several years, and as a minister was able and as a pastor was lovable. His remains were sent to Orangeburg, S. C., for interment and a committee was sent by the church here to attend the funeral. Mr. Hood is survived by a wife and one child who now live at Orange- burg, S. C.
