HEARD PASSES TO HOME ETERNAL The spirit of Mrs. Robt. H. Heard entered into heavenly rest at midnight, Tuesday, Feb 19. She was Lois Berry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Berry, the father preceding her many years. Practically all of her life was spent in Covington and surrounding section. For a brief space her residence was in Atlanta. She was united in marriage to Mr. Robt. H Heard fifteen years ago, on Feb. 14th. They had two children, Grant and little Evelyn, who was transplanted in God's garden at the tender age of three. Mrs. Heard was a home-maker, by industry and perserverance she kept indoors immaculate and out doors a mass of bewildering bloom. She was industrious to a marked degree and ministered unstintedly to the comfort and care of her household. She was a faithful friend and generous neighbor. During a long period of illness, Mrs. Heard showed a noble fortitude and was tenderly nursed by her devoted husband and son. Every available service possible in love and science and skill were employed for her restoration. The funeral took place last Thursday morning at 11:00 o'clock in the First Baptist church of which she had been a consistent member many years. A beautiful program of music was rendered by Miss Lunsford and the Baptist choir. Favorite selections of the deceased were used in which was "Shall We Gather At The River?" Exquisite flowers covered the chancel and lay like a fragrant mantle over the bier. Rev. Walker Combs paid tender tribute to the life and character of Mrs. Heard.
