A. Harp died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. J. E. Robinson, in Covington, on the night of Jan. 13th, 1897. Aged about 69 years. Col Harp was for many years in the newpaper business, having owned and edited the Covington Time and also the Conyers Examiner and a paper in Jackson. He was a Confederate Soldier, and a social, generous, warm hearted man. His remains were buried in the city cemetery by the side of his wife, who died several years ago. Rev. T. J. Swanson conducted the funeral services. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Robinson, of this city, and a son, Mr. W. E. Harp, of Jackson, and many relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
