H. Heard departed this life at her residence, 7 miles south of Covington. Aged 72 years. Death never claimed for its prize a purer, better, nobler woman. She was ever kind and generous to the poor and needy, and always made home a happy place for her family and friends. It is difficult to paint with words the life and character of this gentle Christian lady. Her entire existence was like a tender poem which charms the heart and lives in memory for all time to come. Her trust being in God, her faith was well founded, and she calmly fell to sleep in the arms of her Redeemer just as the old year was ebbing its tiresome life away. Death had no sting or terror for a lady like Mrs. Heard, for when the Master called her home she was willing and prepared to go. She was the mother of Messrs. Edward, Augustus, Wilkes, Joseph and Grant Heard, besides these she leaves three daughters and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her demise. Our sympathies are with the bereaved in their hour of grief and sorrow. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
