DEATH’S SAD ROLL
     Mr. N. H. Hicks died at his home in Covington on Friday, June 11th, 1897. 
Aged about 35 years. He was a kind and courtly man, who made friends all along 
the journey of life. Harmon Hicks will be missed and mourned by all the people 
of Newton county. He was a loyal Methodist and an earnest Sunday School worker 
and a fine singer. He leaves a loving wife and two devoted daughters and 
numbers of friends and relatives to cherish his pure and spotless memory. His 
body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Oak Hill Saturday.
