An inquest was held by the coroner and the verdict of the jury was to the effect that he came to his death accidentally. Mr. Hunt was about 70 years old and a very clever man. He served in the Confederate army, being a member of the 42nd Ga. Regiment, and made a good soldier. For many years he has lived above Oxford and followed farming and marketing for a better living. He was an honest man, but made no pretensions to piety. He drank spirits and malt liquor when it suited his fancy and it is said that he was somewhat under the influence of beer or liquor when he left for home that evening. Our old friend had his faults, but he had his virtues, too.
