DEATH’S SAD ROLL
     Miss Adeline Jones departed this life at the home of her sister, Mrs. R. 
H. Thompson, in this city, on Saturday afternoon last. Aged about 56 years. 
Rev. W. H. LaPrade conducted the funeral services at the M. E. Church and at 
the grave Sunday afternoon. Miss Adeline was a kind and generous lady, always 
willing and always ready to work for the comfort and happiness of others. She 
was sick only about two weeks and all that tender nursing and careful treatment 
could do was done, but she grew weaker and weaker from day to day, until the 
angel of death bore her pure spirit from this world to that better land beyond 
the stars. She leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her departure. May 
flowers of beauty ever bloom upon her grave. In life she was our friend and as 
such we loved her. In death we lament her loss and drop a tear to her memory.

CARD OF THANKS
     Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Thompson and Mr. Houston A. Jones desire to return 
their grateful and heartfelt thanks to their neighbors and friends for kindness 
and attention, by day and night, to their sister, Miss ADELINE JONES, during 
her sickness and death. These dear friends and neighbors will live in memory so 
long as life shall last, for amid the grief and sorrow incident upon such 
occasions, these tender ministering tend to make them less hard and difficult 
to bear. With all their hearts they thank each and all who so willingly and 
generously gave aid and assistance to them in their hours of deep grief and 
sore bereavement.
