The Covington News Thursday, January 3, 1974
  Mrs. Edna Allen Knight of Route 1. Covington, passed away in a private 

hospital on December 24, where she had been a patient for 13 days.

  Mrs. Knight was the daughter of the late James and Josephine Farrows Allen. 

She was a native and lifelong resident of Newton County and was the widow of 

the late Wilson Knight. She was 83 years old at the time of her death.

  Funeral Services were conducted December 25 at the Chapel of Caldwell and 

Cowan Funeral Home with Rev. J. T. Payne officiating. He was assisted in the 

service by Rev. Charles L. Moody Jr. Interment was in Liberty Cemetery at 

Porterdale with Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Her 

grandsons served as pallbearers.

  Surviving are two sons, Plez Knight, Relious Knight, two daughters, Mrs. 

Nettie Christian, all of Covington; Mrs. Odessa Cardell, Social Circle, 18 

grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
