On Thursday, March 2nd, as the clock told the hour of ten o'clock p.m., Uncle Jonathan Lovvorn ceased to breathe and his spirit took its flight to that home prepared for those who love the lord , "the house not made with hands." Mr. Lovvorn was born in NEWTON COUNTY, GA., Aug. 15, 1819; married Nov. 25, 1841; moved to this county in 1858. Uncle Jonathan was loved and respected by all who knew him and we feel that in his death we have indeed lost a friend. He joined the Missionary Baptist church the 4th Saturday in September 1859. Since then he has been a faithful member. Six children have gone before father. What joy there must have been in heaven when father and children met around god's throne to part no more. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his death, the children being: Mrs. Nancy Moon Mrs. Eliza Green M. A. Lovvorn M. D. Lovvorn To the bereaved ones I would say, weep not for your father, for he is not dead but sleepeth. It is hard to give him up but your loss is heaven's gain. His spirit is at rest. You have one more tie in heaven to bind you closer to god. "Father has passed away, rest to him has been given, and though you cannot see him, his spirit is in heaven."
