J. F. MCCORD CLAIMED BY DEATH, SHE DIED AT THEIR RESIDENCE ON WASHINGTON STREET THURSDAY NIGHT AFTER LONG ILLNESS. Mrs. Florence McCord, wife of Joseph F. McCord, of this city, died at their residence on Washington Street early Thursday night after an illness covering a period of several years, during all of which she had retained her splendid Christian fortitude and uncomplaining disposition. Mrs. McCord had been a resident of this city practically all her life and had a large circle of friends. She was of a retiring disposition, believing in making her home happy rather than anything else. She was a loving wife and a kind mother and a true friend. Besides her husband, she leaves five children, Mrs. R. E. Stacy of Mansfield; Misses Ethel and Flore McCord, and Messrs. Stewart and Richard McCord, of this city. She also leaves other relatives and a large number of friends to mourn her death. The funeral occurred at the residence Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John G. Logan and Rev. John B. Gordon. The interment took place immediately after in Westview Cemetery.
