Means, an aged and honored lady, died at her home in Oxford on Saturday morning last. Aged about 36 years, perhaps 35 yrs. She was the wife of the late venerable Dr. Alexander Means, and a better, kinder-hearted lady never lived or died than was she. The long years of her existence was devoted to making those around her happy. For some time past she has been in feeble health and her death was not entirely unexpected. Her life of Christian benevolence and sweet charity is as a rich legacy to those she leaves behind. Let not the dear ones of her earthly household mourn as those without hope, for this pure and noble woman had so lived that she knew full well before she died that a crown of righteousness was laid up for her in Heaven. Sleep sweetly, sainted mother in Israel, for thou art now far beyond the pale, strife and care of this world, and are safe at home in thy Father’s house, where rest, peace and joy will be thine throughout all eternity.
