Death of Mrs. Mills
  Mrs. Verten Mills, age thirty nine, wife of Mr. Allen Mills, died Saturday
morning at her home on Elm Street, after a long illness. She was a woman
that was loved by all who knew her. She was always ready to help those
in need and in sickness and by her kindness. She will be missed so much
by the family who tried so much to keep her with them but God knew best
and called her to a home of rest. She is survived by her husband, two sons,
Marvin and Daniel, three brothers, Messrs. Zack and Frank Patterson all
of Porterdale and Will Patterson of Atlanta, three sisters, Mrs.Tom Collum,
and Mrs. J. Hooten, all of Covington and Mrs.Will ?, and a host of other
relatives. She was buried at the Baptist church, Sunday afternoon. Rev.
J. W.  Haley conducting the funeral services.
