It appears that a gun had been carried along which was left on the opposite side of the river, and young Murray went after it. While returning to the party he took the gun by the barrel to push some bushes out of the way, when the hammer came in contact with a log and the gun fired, the load entering the breast of Mr. Murray making a wound from which he died in a short while. He was an excellent and industrious young man, highly esteemed by all who knew him. The parents have the sympathies of all our people in their time of grief over the tragic death of their precious son.
