The Covington Star, March 11, 1885
     Mrs. J. L. McCord, wife of Mr. John L. McCord, of West Newton county, died 
at her home on last Sunday, the 8th inst., after a very brief illness, aged 
about 69 years. She was the mother of Mr. Joseph McCord, of Covington.
