W. A. NORTON It pains us to record the death of our friend and fellow-citizen, Mr. WILLIAM ADOLPHUS NORTON, which sad event transpired in this city on Friday last. He had been in feeble health often and on for sometime, but of late has been able to discharge his duties as street overseer. Wednesday afternoon he had a severe hemorrhage and was carried to a bedroom in the old King corner building, being too weak to be removed home, he remained there attended by friends and physicians until Friday noon when he died. His wife being present when he breathed his last. His remains were removed to his residence and Saturday afternoon laid to rest in the new cemetery, Rev. W. H. LaPrade conducting the services at the grave. Aged about 41 years. He leaves a wife, seven children and many relatives to mourn his departure. In life we love him, in death we drop a tear to his memory. He was a kind-hearted, generous man, cordial, genial and companionable. May he sleep sweetly in the solitude of his quiet grave yard house, until the great resurrection morn.
