J. Owens Buried Funeral services for the late Mrs. J. J. Owen of Covington, were held at the Almon Methodist church, Sunday morning, of which denomination Mrs. Owen was a most faithful member since childhood. Revs. Pryor Manning and John B. Gresham officiated and called to mind the good works and great faith of this exemplary Christian and citizen whose interest in church work and education was noteworthy. Mrs. Owen died on Saturday at the age of 51, from a brain tumor. She is survived by her husband, one son, J. T. Owen, one daughter, Mrs. C. H. Berry, three grandchildren, six sisters, Mrs. T. P. Treadwell, Mrs. A. J. St John, Mrs. D. T. Dodd, Mrs. R. A. Parker, all of Covington, Mrs. J. Parker, Campville, Fla., Mrs. H. C. Hyatt, of Atlanta, and a brother, G. A. Sockwell of Detroit, and an uncle, G. W. Riley of Henry County, Ga. Mrs. Owen was accounted one of the finest housekeepers in the state of Georgia and was beloved by all who knew her.
