Wiley W. OSBORN, who held the position of Tyler, in Golden Fleece Lodge No. 6, F. & A. M., departed this life at his home in Covington, on Sept. 8, 1892. Brother OSBORN was born near Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Ga., on Nov. 17, 1833. In early manhood he professed religion and joined the Methodist Church, and spent his life in the service of the Lord. Brother OSBORN was an earnest and enthusiastic mason, having joined the fraternity in early manhood. He was always constant in attendance at the lodge, and served it well and faithfully. He was a patriotic man, and entered the confederate army in April 1861 and served as a member of the 3rd Georgia Volunteers until the close of the war. He was a brave and gallant soldier, excellent citizen, devoted husband, affectionate parent, and true friend to every honest man and every worthy cause. He was a man who had opinions and convictions of his own, and possessed the courage to stand by and defend them under any and all circumstances. In every relation of life he proved himself to be “the very soul of honor and every inch a man.” As men and masons we loved our brother, and mourn in sorrow his departure; but we have evidence, that amounts almost to assurance, that when he left this earthly lodge he did so to find a welcome in that Grand Lodge above, “where the faithful meet to part no more.” Resolved, That in the death of Brother OSBORN Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge loses a true and faithful member. Resolved, 2d. That we tender our sympathies to the bereaved family; that a copy of this memorial be sent to his widow; and that it be spread upon the minutes of this lodge. S. W. HAWKINS, L. L.
