H. Oxford, who reside about three miles below Starrsville, was so badly scalded with a cup of hot coffee on last Saturday evening, that she died on Sunday night. It seems Mr. and Mrs. Oxford went about preparing supper, when the coffee was made, she poured out a cup full and set it on the table. She then turned away, to attend to something else, when the little child climbed into a chair, took up the cup, and started to drink it, which burned it so severly internally, that it lingered in great agony until Sunday night, when it died. The child was 19 months old, and was very bright for its age. It was buried on Monday. The sorrow stricken parents have the sympathy of everyone in their great sorrow.
