W. J. THOMPSON BURRIED WEDNESDAY Mrs. W. J. Thompson, 75, died last Monday afternoon after an illness of two days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Johnson of Covington. Funeral Services were held Wednesday morning at Salem Campground by W. T. Irvin, pastor of Covington Methodist Church and burial was in the church cemetery. She is survived by six children, four sons and two daughters, W. V. Thompson of Bremen, D. M. of Covington, J. Z. and R. W. of Madison, Mrs. B. T. Mchugh of Madison, and Mrs. E. E. Johnson of Covington. Additional Comments: Mrs. W. J. Thompson is Octavia K. Rape Thompson. Her parents were Peter Marion DeCalb Rape and Mary Ann White. Octavia lost two of her sons, Edgar R., Hezekiah C. and one daughter, Evie May, between 1925 and 1930. Octavia came to Newton County from Henry County, GA., with her husband William J. Thompson in 1905. Surviving children in Obit: William Vester, David Marion, James Zachry, Raymond Wood, Mary Thompson McHugh, Rose Thompson Johnson.
