J. Reed Dies Mrs. M. J. Reed, widow of a Confederate veteran now deceased many years, died at the home of her son Mr. Will Reed at the age of 82 in Porterdale on December 31. The funeral services were held from the Baptist church, Rev. Lyda officiating. Mrs. Reed was a noble soul and lived a noble and self-sacrificing life. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lena Reeves, Mrs. Lizzie Treadway and Mrs. Lorraine Goodroe; three sons, William, H. L. and C. W. Reed, and one sister, Mrs. Harty Floyd.
