Georgia Enterprise, Jan. 31, 1895

  Mr. J. W. Parks died quite suddenly at his home in Stansell's district on
Jan. 22nd. He had been walking over his plantation, and feeling a little
unwell, returned to the house. A messenger started for his wife and daughter,
who had gone on a visit to a neighbor near by, but before they could reach
his side he was dead. Mr. Parks was a true and noble man, being kind and
gentle to everybody. He was a useful citizen and his death is a great loss
to his family and to the county.
