Georgia Enterprise, April 16, 1896
  Capt. Geo. F. Meriwether, postmaster at Monticello, Ga., died quite suddenly
of apoplexy one day last week. He was a man of honor and integrity. For
several years himself and good wife were residents of Covington and have many
friends here who will be pained to hear of his death.
