M. D. SOCKWELL IS CLAIMED BY DEATH Splendid Covington Man Died at His Daughter's Home Here Thursday of Last Week. Mr. M. D. Sockwell, died at the home of Mrs. C. M. Griffin in Covington, Thursday morning of last week at 6 o'clock. He was 67 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Sockwell was a splendid citizen and a gentlemen of genial personality, which made him many friends. The funeral took place at the Almon Baptist church Friday morning at 11 o'clock. The interment followed at Shiloh cemetery. The Rev. T. J. Williams conducted the services. He was assisted by the Rev. F. M. Underwood. Mr. Sockwell leaves two daughters; Mrs. A. J. Wingate and Mrs. C. M. Griffin, of Covington; two sons; Mr. W. A. Sockwell and Mr. J. C. Sockwell of Atlanta; two sisters; Mrs. H.L.
