Georgia Enterprise, Jan 28, 1897
  Mr. N. J. Skinner died at his home in Hays district on the night of Jan. 
20th. Age about 66 years. He was stricken with paralysis and from its effects 
he died. Mr. Skinner was an excellent man who possessed the esteem and 
confidence of all who knew him. He leaves a family and many relatives and 
friends to cherish his memory.
