H. Richards, departed this life at their home, near Kings, on Sunday evening, June 14. She was a daughter of Congressman Livingston, and was one of the noblest and best ladies in Newton county. To know her was to admire and love her. She had a kind word for everybody and was always generous to the poor and needy. She made home happy and was the joy and pride, the idol, as it were, of every member of her household. She was a gentle Christian lady, being a consistent and useful member of Bethany Presbyterian church, at which cemetery her body was laid to rest on Monday. The sympathy of all our people are with the husband, children and kindred in their time of sorrow over the death of their precious loved one. Mrs. Richards died of typho malaria contracted while visiting her son Edward in Washington City, who died with the same disease on May 22nd.
