He was a brother of Messrs. Hugh and Tommie White, of Newton county, and at the time of his death was 93 years old. In speaking of this good man a special from Winder says: "He was one of the earliest settlers in the county, being 93 years of age, and the oldest Mason in the State. He belonged to the Universalist church. As a man, a citizen and a Mason he was loyal and true; as a father and husband he was affectionate, and looked carefully after those who were dependent upon him."
