Georgia Enterprise, Feb. 10, 1898
  Mr. J. W. Perkins died at his home, in Kirkwood on Friday last of apoplexy.
Aged about 66 years. He was one of the oldest and best photographers in the
South, was a brave and gallant Confederate soldier and a courteous polished
gentleman. He was the father of our friend and fellow citizen, Mr. W. R.
Perkins, and has a large number of friends and dear ones to lament his demise.
