She had been sick but a short while, but from the beginning there was some apprehension on the part of those who were acquainted with her condition, that it was a death struggle. She was one of the most popular and brightest young ladies in Covington, and her friends were numbered by the score. To know her was but to love her. It is indeed sad for one so young and bright as Miss Trudie just entering womanhood, to sever her connection with those that love her, to take up her abode beyond this vale of tears. She was born on the 22nd day of August 1879, and graduated in 1897 in a large class. She has been sick but fourteen days. Dr. W. D. Travis the attending physician has watched her continuously from the beginning of her illness both day and night. Miss Trudie was popular with both old and young, and everybody seemed to think that she was their high appreciation of her, and the loss which they have incurred, sent to Atlanta and had a beautiful floral design sent down which was put upon her coffin.
