She was ready to obey the Master’s Call, for she had “fought the good fight, had kept the faith,” and assurance had been given her, ere she departed, that “crown of righteousness” was in waiting for her when she reached the spirit land. She leaves husband, children, friends and relatives to lament her demise and cherish her pure and spotless character. She was a kind and gentle lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. May she sleep sweetly. ~~ This was in an earlier edition. January 10, 1889 We are pained to learn that Mrs. Littleton Petty, one of the oldest and best women in the county, is very low at her husband’s home near town. It is thought that her useful Christian life is drawing near to a close.
