The Georgia Enterprise, November 22, 1888
     A little two year old daughter of Mr. Thomas Ponder, of Cedar Shoals 
district, was burned to death one day last week. The mother was out of the 
house and the child’s clothing caught while standing near the fire, and from 
the effects of the burns she died in a short while. Our sympathy is extended to 
the bereaved parents.
