DEATH’S SAD ROLL
     Mr. J. D. RAMSEY, an aged and honored citizen of Newton County, died at 
his home in Stansell’s district, on Jan. 17th. Aged about 65 years. He was a 
most excellent man, whom to know was to love. He was a warm hearted gentleman, 
who endeavored always to make those around him happy. He served the Lord well 
and faithfully and has been called to his reward. He leaves wife, children and 
many relatives and dear friends to lament his less and mourn his departure. A 
good and noble man has been called from among us.
