Besides other sickness, there has been 48 cases of fever. Our sympathies are with our friends who have had such intense anxiety, such tiresome days and sleepless nights, waiting on and watching over loved ones, who were suffering, but deeper still with those, who have after the anxious watching, followed their loved ones to the grave. Our community has sustained a serious loss by deaths during the past fourteen months. They were: Mrs. S. P. RICHARDS and Mrs. M. J. TURNER, aged Christian mothers Bright, sweet little CARROLL DAVIDSON Mr. ED THACKER, one of our most devout Christian men Mr. C. T. GUTHRIE, a perfect picture of health; Messrs. JOE HICKS, NORMAN THACKER, CHARLIE HICKS, all in the prime of life; WALTER KING, CHESTER HARVEY, WINFRED COWAN, promising boys, all gone. Little do we know what will happen to us in a month or a year. But now our community is almost free from sickness. Everybody is well and have started a new year, under brighter circumstances. We hope and trust that the Lord may keep us from ever having another such a year’s affliction.
