M. Swanson, Ordinary of Jasper county, died at his home in Monticello. He was a brother of Rev. T. J. Swanson, of Covington, who is now the only one left of ten brothers ans sisters. In speaking of death of this good and true man the Monticello correspondent of the Macon Telegraph says: "He had been confined to his bed only about eight days with the grip and bronchial effection. Judge Swanson has held the office of ordinary for many years and was much loved and respected by the people of this county and his friends were all of those who knew him. His kindly words to all were indicative of his largeness of heart and it is the belief of one and all that a truly good man has gone. He was a consistant member of the Baptist church of this place and was one of the pillars of that Christian institution. Every citizen of this county mourns the death of this upright man."
